How do I book an appointment?
At StarrStruck Ink, we want every tattoo to start with a clear vision. That’s why we provide a complimentary online consultation with Starr. This one-on-one time gives you the chance to ask questions, share ideas, and work together to create a tattoo design that’s uniquely yours.
Once your consultation is complete, a non-refundable deposit of at least $50 is required to book your tattoo appointment. Large-scale projects may require a higher deposit, which will be applied to your final session price. Deposits can be paid in person or over the phone.
Rescheduling & Cancellations
- A 24-hour notice is required to reschedule your appointment once without losing your deposit.
- If you fail to provide notice, or if you no-call / no-show, your deposit will be forfeited.
- All deposits are final and non-refundable.

Can I bring a guest?
Yes, you can; however, due to the limited studio space we ask that you keep it to a 2 guest maximum.
Can I bring food or drinks with me?
Yes, of course. Feel free to bring food or drinks that you would like to have with you. We also do provide a variety of drinks and snacks for our clients and their guests.
What will my tattoo cost?
The cost of your tattoo depends on several factors, including size, style, placement, and detail. Because every tattoo is unique, we require a complimentary consultation before providing an estimate.
During your consultation, you’ll have dedicated one-on-one time with Starr to:

- Ask questions about the process, pricing, and aftercare

Does getting a tattoo hurt?
Yes, getting a tattoo can involve some discomfort. However, most people find the pain very manageable. Everyone’s tolerance is different, but with the right mindset and preparation, the process is easier than you might expect.
The best thing you can do is focus on pain management:
- Take deep, steady breaths
- Stay relaxed and still
- Find your calm mental space and settle in for the session
Remember, the temporary discomfort is part of the journey toward a piece of art you’ll carry with you for life.
Do you reuse tattoo needles?
Absolutely not! We never reuse needles. At StarrStruck Ink, your safety is our top priority.
- We use only single-use, sterile tattoo needles.
- For added protection, we use 100% disposable tubes.
- Every surface and tool that may come in contact with you is covered with protective barriers.
- Our studio follows strict hygiene protocols, and Starr completes annual continuing education to stay up to date on health and sanitation standards.
You can feel confident knowing that every tattoo is done in a safe, clean, and professional environment.
How should I prepare for my tattoo?
A little preparation goes a long way toward making your tattoo experience smooth and comfortable:
- Take care of your skin: Start moisturizing the area a few days before your appointment. Healthy skin takes ink better.
- Rest & fuel up: Get a good night’s sleep and eat a solid meal beforehand. Arrive at your appointment with energy — not sick, not hungover.
- Dress smart: Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the area being tattooed. Remember, ink can stain clothes permanently.
- Plan ahead for kids: Children are not allowed in the studio, unless prior arrangements are granted. Please make childcare arrangements before your appointment.

How should I care for my tattoo?
Your artist will review this with you in person, but here’s a quick rundown in case you need a reminder. The goal is simple: keep your tattoo clean and moisturized.
Cleaning & Moisturizing
- Wash your hands thoroughly with the soap provided by us (or an unscented antibacterial soap) before touching your tattoo.
- Gently wash your tattoo every few hours using warm — not hot — water, massaging lightly with your fingertips.
- Pat dry with a clean paper towel.
- Apply a thin layer of the recommended lotion or an unscented, dye-free moisturizer.
Things to Avoid
- Sun & Tanning: Keep your tattoo out of direct sunlight and tanning beds for at least 3 weeks.
- Submersion: Showers are fine, but avoid soaking your tattoo in pools, oceans, rivers, hot tubs, or baths for 3 weeks.
- Scratching & Picking: If scabs form, do not pick or scratch. Let them heal naturally.
Healing Process
- Light secretion is normal in the first few days.
- Peeling skin is common between weeks 2 and 3.
- Blacks may heal to a lighter shade, and colors will lose some initial brightness — this is part of the normal healing process.
If You Have Concerns
- Contact us directly with any questions about your tattoo.
- If you notice signs of infection (such as excessive redness, swelling, or pus), notify your artist and seek medical attention.

STUDIO ETIQUETTE
Getting a tattoo is an experience that’s best when both artist and client are on the same page. Here are a few simple guidelines to help make your session smooth, respectful, and enjoyable:
Do Your Research
Come prepared with a clear idea of what you want. Bringing or sending reference photos helps Starr understand your vision and ensures we’re aligned from the start.
Trust the Artist’s Style & Expertise
Every artist has their own strengths. Starr will guide you on placement, size, and design adjustments to ensure your tattoo looks great now and for years to come. Be open to professional input — it’s given with your best results in mind.
Speak Up (at the Right Time)
If there’s something major about your design you don’t like, say so before tattooing begins. Once the tattoo is in progress, avoid nitpicking every tiny detail. Trust the process and let the artist work — collaboration and trust go hand-in-hand.
Respect Pricing
Good tattoos aren’t cheap, and cheap tattoos aren’t good. Starr’s pricing reflects skill, time, and quality. Please don’t haggle — it’s disrespectful to the art and the artist.
Be Patient
Setting up takes time, and large or custom pieces require preparation. Respect the process — patience leads to the best results.
Practice Good Hygiene
You’ll be in close contact with your artist. Shower before your session and come clean.
Stay Sober
Never come to your appointment under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Not only is it unsafe, but alcohol thins your blood and makes tattooing more difficult. Even the night before, avoid heavy drinking.
Respect Time Limits
If you know you can only sit for a certain number of hours, let Starr know beforehand. Don’t ask for a six-hour tattoo if you can only handle three.
No Eating During Tattooing
Stay still while being tattooed. If you need to eat, take a short break instead of eating in the chair.
Tip Your Artist
Tipping isn’t required but is always appreciated. Many clients tip around 20% or more — but thoughtful gifts are welcome too if that feels more personal. It’s a simple way to say thank you for the time and effort put into your tattoo.
